These were the author’s remarks during the launch of Shadow of Doubt: Probing the Supreme Court, March 16, 2010.
The story of this book—the troubles we encountered in getting it off the press—says a lot about the Supreme Court and its awesome power. Conventional literature tells us that the Supreme Court is the least powerful branch of government because it has no hold over the purse and the sword.
